Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (50 pack)

A Sediment Water Filter removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The sediment filter has tiny holes through which water can pass, but unwanted particles are retained. These filters come in different sizes, measured in microns, with smaller micron ratings capturing smaller particles. For visibly polluted water with larger particles, a larger sediment filter (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of subsequent filters.

This sediment filter is often the first filter installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles like sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles. Made of fine melted polypropylene, it is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removing these particles allows downstream filters like Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) to perform better and last longer.

These particles and pollutants come from water sources, old and dirty pipes, as well as treatment contaminants. The multi-layer gradient filtration design of these sediment filters intercepts a wide range of impurities, including rust, corrosion, coarse and fine sand, scale, and other particles.

These universal 2.5 x 10-inch sediment filters fit most standard under-sink Reverse Osmosis systems and other water filtration units with 10-inch housings. They are also suitable for use as pre-filters in Whole House Water Systems, Under Counter-top, and Counter-top Water Filter Systems to optimize the performance and lifespan of the downstream carbon or GAC filters.

With their superior contaminant holding capacity and flow rate, these sediment filters can reduce particles as small as 1 micron without affecting taste, odor, or color. They are ideal for residential, rural, commercial, industrial, and municipal applications.
