This sediment water filter is designed to remove physical debris and impurities from your water. The filter has tiny holes that allow water to pass through, while trapping unwanted particles of varying sizes. The smaller the micron rating, the smaller the holes in the filter, enabling it to capture even the finest particles.

For water that is visibly polluted with larger particles, a sediment filter with a larger micron rating (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage of installation. This helps prevent the clogging of subsequent filters.

The sediment filter is often the initial filter installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles, including sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine contaminants. This allows the subsequent filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filters, to perform better and last longer.

The main difference between a Grooved Sediment Filter and a regular Sediment Filter is the surface area. The Grooved Sediment Filter has a larger surface area, contributing to a longer lifespan and better filtration performance.
